The scarab fired from the reaver is extremely stupid. It moves in a straith line to its target and then gets stuck if something is in the way. I wish it could find a smarter path to it´s target, or atleast move around objects in its way.
To be honest, thats 100% the intended behavior a reaver scarab should show :D
Yeah I know, but this is to the point where it gets absurd. O_o
Right now, the reaver is extremely dumb, even dumber then in BW. The scarabs get stuck at anything.
I would like the scarab to "move around" objects much more efficent, but I don´t know how to do it. I´ve tried changing a lot of things, but the scarab still gets stuck.
Im not too familiar with the bw reaver. Could you explain a little more, so we can find a solution? Is the reavers projectile thingy a unit or a missile? Which mover does it use? Is it following its target if the target unit moves?
It fires a missile, which, is basically a unit, but unselectable and can behave in any number of ways. It should follow the target until it detonates.
I remember it would get stuck on ground units/buildings/mineral fields sometimes, and would kind of "move back and forth" along the length of the unit before finding a path, and then reach its target where it would explode, dealing AoE damage.
Here's a video where the reaver is seen. Just skip the video to about 8:30. You will notice that the Scarab gets caught by probes, and "hangs" there, or will move around the unit to reach its intended target.
God damn... those Dragoon sound effects are badass.

I am tweaking the reaver.

Any ways?

What's the scarab's mover? Try changing it to "ground" and see what happens.
Scaler. Like the colossus.

Depends on whether he wants the scarab to use ground pathing as it did in SC1.
Exactly. I dont want Scarabs to jump up or down cliffs. It must stick to the ground.
If there is anything in the way, the Scarab shall move around the object to reach it´s target.

Come on people, there gotta be a way to make the scarab smarter!?
