Basically, I'm working on a map which is very similar to Kodo Tag. Like Kodo Tag, a builder unit builds very quickly making walls around a base. The problem is, sometimes my scv gets stuck inside of the buildings that he's building, making him be unusable until someone blows up the building. I think I replaced the building ability with the probe's building ability. I'm not sure if that's the reason. However, I have no idea what I should do to stop the scv from being randomly stuck on the buildings that he's building. It happens rarely, but it does happen. Anything I can do in the Data editor to stop this from happening? Being stuck can jeopardize your whole base...
I'm sure either the structure or builder has placement radius that is too small. meaning that it can fit between small spaces. If you increase the units radius, it should not be able to get stuck.
Thanks for the response. I thought it also had problems with the radius, however I'm not sure what I should be looking for. There are two types of radius's, radius and inner radius. There is also a separation radius but I think that has to deal with air units. Here are the stats on my building and unit.
Building
Radius- 1.25
Inner Radius- 0
Unit
Radius- 0.5
Inner Radius- 0.5
What should I alter to make sure that I don't get stuck anymore?
-On the structure the "Movement - Pathing Footprint - Placement" and "Movement - Pathing Footprint", the structure should be at least 1x1. (2x2 is normal)
-On the structure and builder, "Movement - Radius" and "Movement Separation Radius". Compare these values with other similar melee buildings and units to get an idea of what they should be.
-On the structure and builder, "Movement - Collide", to see what the unit can collide with. Again compare the values to other units.
My movement footprints were set correctly, also I've compared my units and structures with other units and structures. They're all pretty much identical to my setup. What I just did was increase the radius and inner radius for scvs. Hopefully that will stop or at least shorten the probability of them getting stuck. Thanks for you help, if anyone else has any ideas, please help out.
