How would I make a good minigun (not using tychus) and add projectiles to look like the ammo is flying? It will have a crazy high rate of fire, very low damage per shot, not be 100% acurate (chance of missing is like 40% per shot) has a chance of jamming for a few seconds, and be fired from... hmm would a non-mobile viking on the ground look ok for this I wonder? It will be a good data exersice for me.
I am new and I keep getting ideas that keep growing even as I type this.
Well, using actual projectiles would be most likely not look that good, they would need to be really fast and there are not really nice bullet projectiles I know of.
You could use the Snipe Beam graphics, this would probably look quite nice.
Also, how do you want to realize the missing? Should the shot simply not hit 40% of the time or should the shots always hit targets they fly against and just be randomly spread over an arc? (this is a huge difference)
Well, since it is a minigun, I was hoping to create a spray the target area with lead effect, this includes air. Maybe 40% was a little too specific, but serously how would you make it look like the gun is riddling the area where the unit is with heavy fire? I was thinking of the penetrator round ability animation minus the pierce multiple targets would work.
Do like the thor barrage ability, that creates the actors in a random location in a circle. Combine this with a site eg collossus beam for the impact site of your skill/weapon. For the chance to miss just set the Effect - Chance for the damage effect to <1.

I still need it to look like it is firing at the target region. I want it to at least LOOK like its firing a machine gun... The odin animation would be better also.
Edit: how do I assign an ability to be a units main weapon?
Well I'll try it the "easyway"first how would I modify damage? I do not see it... hmm
