Greetings!
So I got this idea to create a few elementals. Namely shadow/void, fire, water and earth elemental, maybe wind would be fun too :)
Here's the first one's WIP. Still need to animate other sequences here and there but overall I'm happy with how it's turning out so far.
Portraits will be included of course because they are fun! (and sounds ;) )
Of course I will release packs when each unit is ready.
Here are some images of dramatic poses ;)
And a YouTube with some animations and particles:
I have to say that particles and ArtTools are soooo awesome! :)
I think it could overall look a *bit* darker, and the particle emitter at its "feet" could maybe emit more particles/texture the particles to look denser?
Also, are the models you're going to make be available to everyone? I'd love to use that guy in Starmon :p
Looks great! I kinda agree with Tainted though his body (not gauntlets) looks covered in grease or oil, I imagine shadow elementals as more wispy and undefined. Hard to explain but the specular is to strong.
Ok you're right :) took down the emissive part a bit and made it darker. Too dark looks just like a black goo and it's rather not interesting.
Thanks :)

If I emit more particles, the base turns into huge mess. Tried that before. But yeah, everyone will be able to download it once it's done :)
If its a void elemental maybe the bracers should be colored like the black protoss from the Hybrid mission? Ohh and they need to be improved, kind of weird at close range.
I've added a few animations: 2 fidgets, one more attack animation, walk cycle and first spell cast animation.
So with the textures I went through a lot of different iterations and changed it to this and I like it the most. Changed the binders also a bit, more elegant and added "eyes".
@Leruster: Go Man, thats... scary. I love the effect of the particles and textures, really makes it look like living Void. I'd like to see that same effect applied to other creatures/shapes.
That is going to be super awesome when it's finished. I almost want to say that his attack hand should reach a little bit farther out. But if he isn't melee then nevermind.

It looks okay, But I think the specular hurts it. makes it look like it has a coat of oil over the top of everything.
That thing looks absolutely awesome :)

This is a Dota style, could be a bit transparent?

I love the particle effects! Great use of distortion too, really makes him look ethereal. I can't wait to see your other elementals :D

Looks ironically familiar to a cartain model for WC3. Just remeber there being a hero that had a gold drqain skill that was rigged for the one mod.
