i was wondering if someone can help me with a team colors issue, so the thing i was wondering is how it would be possible to make the team colors on this model
look more like the ones like the starcraft 2 marines have, so when i start my space marines side of my project i can make them fit in more. model can be found here
http://www.sc2mapster.com/assets/dow2-units/files/18-force-commander-beta/
is it even possible with the textures i have, or what textures would i have to alter and how. also if it would help i can supply the original unaltered textures.
I suppose you have .max source of the model and use Art Tools.
Alpha channel of the texture decides the proportion of team color in diffuse. The darker, the more it's team colored. Also, you can use any texture channel as an emissive team color.
ya i have the max source of the model and i used starcraft trt tools
the thing is i cant get the red the shade and darkness to better match lets say the starcraft to marine no matter how dark i make the team color section of the diffuse. and standing next to a starcraft marine it just look out of place color wise.
Do you mean uv space match? Just make sure alpha and color channels match on the texture. If alpha is black, color channels' color doesn't matter, but if you wand darker color, make gray alpha and dark colors. And make sure there's no emissive team color present.
Ya that looks a lot like what i was shooting for, but i been away from my laptop for a bit so i havent been able to check out the file yet to see how the changes were made. But thank you in advance. You been a very big help so far with every problem i seem to come across.
_Edit
That is exactly what i was looking for, your awesome thank you. this will be great help when i start doing the space marines. and thank you for supplying the file so i have something visual to refer to.
